In the exhibition Who Am I, Who Were You?, school students experience how the time, place and circumstances you were born in influence the opportunities and choices you have – or are denied. Through real historical figures like George Maduro, Aquasie Boachi, Tula, Cornelia van Nijenroode or Aletta Jacobs, you discover that equal treatment and equal rights are far from self-evident. The exhibition covers four themes, with linked programmes for primary and secondary schools: “Right and wrong in the Second World War”, “Leaving house and home”, “Trade and slavery” and “Fight for your rights”.
